The Girl Of My Dreams

She came into my life at the perfect time. I have found my soulmate, the one that supports me always, the one that will tell me like it is, the one who sees my heart. I have found the girl I am attracted to from her heart, her soul, her personality, and her amazingly beautiful looks. I am so lucky to have her and I am thankful for how she sees me and loves me. She always notices me. She praises my strengths and has patience and guidance for my weaknesses. She goes far out of her way to always tell me what I mean to her. I am blessed for the connection I feel with her. I am stronger because of her. She supports and appreciates my love for strength training, arm wrestling, Pit Bulls, and policing in a way that make me feel unique and believed in. I am in love with her. She makes me happy. I look at my life and my search for understanding on the deepest level and could not ask for more. I have always dreamt of finding "the one" and I have found it in her. I love you beyond word…

Strength Team

Strongman training is a big deal in my life. Heavy weights, all seasons and conditions welcome, train through and around injuries and aches, odd implement training like atlas stones, farmer walks, blocks, and sandbags. There is truth in these moments when it's just me and a loaded barbell or boulder. Lift, press, pull, push, and hold. I sure love strength and find it's one of my very greatest ways to keep peace in my heart. Somewhere in the moments, I am with everyone in my life that brings or has brought strength of heart, mind, will, body, and soul to my life. All my strength is really from my dad, mom, my son, brother, girlfriend, grandpas and grandmas, friends, teachers, coaches, and the lessons along the way. Stronger with each step and a whole lot of passion. Some of the strongest people that ever walked this earth filled my life with their strength. Blessed.

Career Goals

At my parents house, I had placed this on the door to my bedroom in 1997 or so. I looked ahead with my career goals focused and I was completely enthusiastic to achieve them. In 2017, this still remains on the door to my old bedroom exactly as it was years ago. My parents never took it down. I have been in the law enforcement profession for over 14 years and it is one my very greatest honors to serve. The blessings are everywhere.

One night shift down with one to follow. It means the world to me to see my Mr. 8 even for a little while before the next shift.
I met my little man with his favorite remote control 4X4 truck to surprise him off the bus. A little walk on the nearby trails as he drove his truck around with enough adventure in his soul to keep the sun on me for the following night shift.
I love these little moments in time that allow everything to realign to what matters most. I love this son of mine so much.

Happy 8th Birthday Son

Happy 8th birthday to my son Austin. I love being his dad. Such an amazing gift to my life. At such a young age he is wise beyond his years. The kid that puts his heart into everything he does. The kid that has enthusiasm and passion for life as it shines from his soul from the moment he goes to sleep, through his every dream, right up to the moment he wakes up. The kid that naturally looks out for everyone else. The kid that makes life such an unbelievable blessing each and every day. The kid that will read this on Facebook today and understand not only these words, but feel them in his lions heart. Continue to chase your legacy Austin. Love dad.

The Beauty and The Beast

We have an island we have been exercising on this week in Fort Myers Florida. Today Katy ran to the end and back. I have a boulder that I just had to lift. I have been wanting to lift this for days now. It's about 240-265 lbs. I got it onto the trail and was close to finding a different one given how heavy it felt. I found the best setup spot and loaded it. I took a few minutes finding the perfect spot for weight distribution, the locations of roughness and jagged spots and where they would end up against my bare chest and arms. Like a jagged and uneven Husafell Stone (famous stone from Husafell Iceland) with decent grip spots, I carried it about 80 feet. The weight pressing the air from the lungs. A few other lap to chest loads made this a strongman workout that will stand out for all of my life. The pick and carry were not nearly as amazing as the beautiful girl on the island with me. The same girl who so faithfully took pictures, told me to be careful, put away the "be car…

Functional Training Passion

Strongman to me is an important part of my life. Implements so rare and unique yet as common and similar as things we all lift, hold, carry, push, press, pull, and turn daily. Many of our farmers have adapted to a lifestyle of carrying and gripping things that would receive respect and admiration from some of the strongest people in the world. Many of our mechanics have adapted to a life of turning wrenches that have created a grip that the strongest strongmen, arm wrestlers, and grip people in the world would take notice. Strongman training with the barbells, farmer walk implements, giant tires, circus dumbbells, atlas stones, boulders, kegs, sandbags, and carry frame takes pieces of the functional and necessary concepts and things that made this great country. Functional strength allows us all to carry in bags of groceries in each hand. Functional strength allows us all to use a can opener and twist until the can opens to make dinner for the family. Functional strength allows us all…
